Bridge the Divide
Bridge the Divide is a non-profit organization that exists to provide meaningful experiences for our most exceptional riders, many of whom have Down Syndrome, Autism or Cerebral Palsy. But whatever physical challenge they are facing, we believe that the opportunity to care for and ride horses is life-changing.
This non-profit program runs year-round and the lessons are FREE to all participants. We provide nearly ONE HUNDRED THIRTY free riding lessons a month. That resulted in over 1000 FREE LESSONS GIVEN in 2010!
We also employ nearly 40 adults with developmental disabilities through the Trinity Foundation. They work as part-time stable hands, groom horses, clean tack, and take care of the barn and the coffeehouse in a five-day a week work program here at the farm.
Please contact us if you have an interest in volunteering time or resources to this worthy project. We are currently looking for local businesses and individuals who would be willing to help sponsor our 2011 Charity Horseshow Series. Sponsorship packages are always available.
We depend entirely upon the generous support of corporate and private donors. All donations are tax-deductible and can be made out to Bridge the Divide, 1711 State Rte. 4, St. Jacob, IL 62281
"We are often asked why we do all this. I can't help but ask, why wouldn't we? I believe that God created horses and I know that He uses them in a special way in the lives of all who come in contact with them. We all need reminding that God's love can be tangible. Who wouldn't want to help make that happen?" - Cortland
