Riding Camps

2010 Camp Schedule

Cornerstone Farms Camps offer a great opportunity for children to spend all day with horses in a safe, family-oriented environment! Campers learn Hunt Seat riding as well as proper care for horses and riding equipment.  Our experienced staff provides quality instruction with an emphasis on safety, sportsmanship and fun.

Five one-week sessions and a weekend specialty camp are being offered this year. These sessions are designed to accommodate different riding levels.

Camper Needs
Campers should wear jodhpurs, breeches, or sturdy pants (i.e. jeans), t-shirts, paddock boots, or long boots (no sneakers) and socks. Campers also must wear protective helmets when riding. While we do provide helmets, to ensure proper fit, campers are strongly encouraged to purchase their own helmets. We have an on-site tack store where everything necessary may be purchased.  It is also a good idea to bring a change of clothing, a bathing suit and sunscreen.

Lunch
Campers should bring a sack lunch and plenty of water each day.  The concession stand will be open throughout the day and a refrigerator and microwave will also be available.

Cost
The fee for each one-week session is $300.  A $25 early registration discount will apply if full payment for camp is received 60 days in advance.

Activities

Each session will begin with an orientation day to familiarize campers with the facility and important safety do's and don'ts. Campers will learn how to care for and work safely around horses, as well as how to properly use and safety-check equipment. Activities will include daily riding instruction, games on horseback, grooming and bathing horses, and horse videos, crafts and instruction in our air-conditioned clubhouse.  At the conclusion of each session, parents and families are invited to a camper demonstration and party.  The Horseshow camp ends with the opportunity to participate in the 2nd Cornerstone Charity H/J Show of the season as either a competitor or show staff.

Aftercare
Aftercare is available for students wanting to extend their camp day to 5:00.  Activities will include crafts, big screen movies, games and other horse-related fun.  The cost is an additional $100 per week.

Downloadable Registration Forms
The following are forms that MUST be printed out and completed prior to the first day of camp.  Students will not be allowed to participate in the absence of this paperwork (sorry!)  Campers can turn these in their first morning of camp or mail them in with payment in advance.  If mailing, please note which camp your child(ren) will be joining us for.
