Riding Camps
2012 Camp Schedule
Cornerstone Farms Camps offer a great opportunity for children to spend all day with horses in a safe, family-oriented environment! Campers learn Hunt Seat riding as well as proper care for horses and riding equipment. Our experienced staff provides quality instruction with an emphasis on safety, sportsmanship and fun.
Camper Needs
Campers should wear jodhpurs, breeches, or sturdy pants (i.e. jeans), t-shirts, paddock boots, or long boots (no sneakers) and socks. Campers also must wear protective helmets when riding. While we do provide helmets, to ensure proper fit, campers are strongly encouraged to purchase their own helmets. It is also a good idea to bring a change of clothing, portable water bottle and sunscreen.
Lunch
Campers should bring a sack lunch and plenty of water each day. A refrigerator and microwave will also be available.
Cost
The fee for each week-long session is $300. A $25 early registration discount will apply if full payment for camp is received 60 days in advance. The Show Team Eq. Camp is $175 per horse/rider combo and One Day Pony Camps are $75 per camper.
Activities
Each week long session will begin with an orientation day to familiarize campers with the facility and important safety do's and don'ts. Campers will learn how to care for and work safely around horses, as well as how to properly use and safety-check equipment. Camp activities will include daily riding instruction, games on horseback, grooming and bathing horses, and horse videos, trail rides, crafts and instruction in our air-conditioned clubhouse. At the conclusion of each session, parents and families are invited to a camper demonstration and party. The Horseshow camps end with the opportunity to participate in a Cornerstone Charity H/J Show as either a competitor or show staff.
Aftercare
Aftercare is available for students wanting to extend their camp day to 5:00. Activities will include crafts, big screen movies, games and other horse-related fun. The cost is an additional $100 per week.
Downloadable Registration Forms
The following are forms that MUST be printed out and completed prior to the first day of camp. Students will not be allowed to participate in the absence of this paperwork (sorry!) Campers can turn these in their first morning of camp or mail them in with payment in advance. If mailing, please note which camp your child(ren) will be joining us for.
